Scenario

Bexley Council required a microsite for their Joint Strategic Needs Assessment. The assessment would look to identify the needs of Bexley’s population across areas such as housing, health and education. Facts and figures would be available for residents and researchers.

Solution

In planning the website, the council had worked closely with a graphic designer and had a clear vision for each page. My job was to make a pixel-perfect recreation of the designer’s vision, while ensuring that the website was fully accessible to all users, as required by the accessibility regulations for public sector bodies.

I integrated with Tableau Software to display the core dataset, to show the various statistics which inform the assessment.

I also built a custom search with detailed filters allowing for specific search queries. To suit the needs of residents looking for quick information, and experienced researchers looking for finer details.

The website is user-friendly and easy to navigate. Project work totalled 1-2 weeks, meeting the council’s desire for a quick turnaround.
